Autumn Skin.....
It happened yesterday - my daughters hands were beginning to become a little red and sore around the wrists and knuckles- a sure sign that the combination of harsh soaps at school and the cooler weather is starting to get the better of her skin.
So...i woke up this morning with an aim to make a fresh batch of Calendula balm!
We have blended apricot kernal oil (which has been infusing with calendula for one month now) with grapeseed oil (high in Vitamin E), a little (around 5%) shea butter and beeswax. No essential oils for this one - i want to keep this balm as simple as possible so as not to irritate sore skin.
Here we have the result - a soothing, richly moisturising balm which should protect skin from the worst of the coming autumn and winter weather.
I'm very pleased with the new balm - the addition of a little shea butter results in a greater moisturising effect than previous recipes.
I will be making a larger batch later on this week. If you want to pre-order a particular jar size just send me an email.
