Lip Balm, Eye Cream & Bar Soaps

Sorry for the pause in blogging. I was in the waiting space.......waiting for my ingredients to arrive....waiting....and now they have arrived! And a frenzy of making can begin! Organic Eye Cream and Lip Balm have been made...selling well already! Tomorrow I plan to get down to making some bar soaps. I am tempted to use my favourite essential oil combinations: Lavender & Geranium, such an uplifting and comforting partnership; and Palmarosa and Sweet Marjoram, quite a grounding and calming combination. Ahh, i can just capture the scent right now... I'll definitely enjoy blending these!

Cold weather, dry & cracked skin! Help!

Just a quick post to recommend a lovely organic skincare company that makes rather luscious balms from herbs and plants grown from seed on their own farm on the welsh border near Hay on Wye.
Every winter, my daughters suffer with such dry and cracked skin on their hands. A good routine of daily moisturiser can prevent the worst, but every now and then when the temperatures dip, the impact of the harsh soap at school is too much - and this is when i reach for the skin rescue balm made by herbfarmacy. I really do recommend their balms - they have a whole range for any occasion - go to their website(www.herbfarmacy.co.uk) to take a look and order on-line. Intensive care for the skin!

Soaps - bar or liquid

At the weekend, we treated ourselves to some of our favourite sandalwood bar soap - yes, it was that exciting! The smell of this soap fills the house to the brim with sandalwood loveliness. I used to use this soap many years ago, including during the heady days spent travelling in India and Sri Lanka, so the smell is uplifting emotionally too. However, it fills me with some concern that i have been so excited by the purchase of this simple hand soap! But, looking at it, it just goes to show how the smells and aroma's around us play such a key part in how we feel and how we store our life's experience. Ok, ok, i know we're only talking about soap, but it does make me realise how effective essential oils are and how the right oils can really make a difference practically and emotionally. So, it is with this thought that i am tempted to embark upon a one woman crusade to bring back the bar soap! A loaf tin style hard soap that can be cut according to need - I am looking at my ingredients right now....

Now stocking locally...

The lovely Grocer on Chelsea Road in Bath has asked that we keep our creams and massage bars in the shop following a successful trial run over the Christmas period. The creams have gone down very well with customers, and I'm hoping to add a couple of new products in the early spring. In fact, we have just been asked today for a cream for men - i'm thinking cedarwood and sandalwood.......will get my blending head on and see what we can create. I know a lot of you are still waiting for us to start with the shampoo again. I'll let you know as soon as we have created a batch. In the meantime, don't hesitate to email us if you have thoughts about a particular skincare product you would like us to create for you...

The dawning of a new era....

Well, my children would quote me saying that I would never use Facebook, blogs, Twitter or the like....however, after taking my head out of the warm sand, I finally realise that it really is about time for me to move forward and embrace all that is modern & digital!

So, welcome! Welcome to our Blog - Under the Peach Tree has gone digital. I must admit, the thought of developing such a thing filled me with fear, but you know what? I actually had fun doing it! I just hope you guys have as much fun following our journey as we embark on creating more luscious creams and lotions for you in 2012.

Come, follow us Under the Peach Tree....
